Cartagena, Colombia. February 2024. Leica Q2 and Ricoh GRIII.

Cartagena, Colombia. The most target-rich photographic environment I’ve ever been to.

This absolutely hypnotizing city captivates the senses with its photogenic beauty, a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors and rich textures. Cobblestone streets wind through the historic Old Town, where colonial-era buildings showcase a palette of pastel hues that range from soft yellows to coral pinks and blues. Bougainvillea vines cascade over balconies, creating a striking contrast against weathered walls adorned with intricate wrought-iron balconies. The Caribbean Sea provides a stunning backdrop, its azure waters mirroring the sky above. At sunset, the city undergoes a magical transformation, as warm golden tones wash over the facades, casting a romantic glow. Marketplaces burst with the vivid hues of fresh fruits and textiles, contributing to a sensory feast that is incomparable. Every corner of this gem exudes an undeniable charm and character, making it a photographer's dream and an aesthetic haven for those who appreciate the mesmerizing interplay of colors and textures. Every street tells a different story.

Below are a few of the images I snapped while going walk-about with my Leica Q2, they were incredibly rewarding to capture. Life is so good.
