The Greek Isles. June 2024. Leica Q2.

The Isles of Greece. A photographic extravaganza of textures, colors, and delicious harsh light and deep shadows.

Photographing the Greek isles is like being handed a paintbrush dipped in sunshine and Mediterranean hues. The colors pop like a Greek salad with feta on a summer day - cobalt blues colliding with whitewashed walls, sunbursts dappling through olive trees, and shadows conspiring with shafts of light in the alleyways to showcase the full dynamic range of back to white. The street life is a photographer's personal Xanadu where every corner screams to be captured, every vista a canvas for playing with light and chasing the “perfect’ shot. F the cell phone selfies here, the real challenge is in trying to perfectly frame the brilliant chaos of Greek island life, where colors don't just dazzle - they tell stories with a wit as sharp as Zeus's thunderbolts.

Below are a few of the street images I snapped while in Athens, Thessaloniki, Kusadasi (Turkey), Heraklion Crete, Santorini, Mykonos, and finally Milos with my beloved Leica Q2. What a sensory overload this experience was. Life is so good.
